It's one of those stones that looks like something between a gemstone and an artisan glass bead, really intriguing!

--Dave
(@Rings_Things on Twitter)Dave Robertsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01614289674255522728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705112.post-17296956365801570242009-05-31T19:58:36.337-07:002009-05-31T19:58:36.337-07:00The Mexican Crazy Lace Agate and Spiderweb Carneli...The Mexican Crazy Lace Agate and Spiderweb Carnelian have to be my two favorites. Because the crackle effect in these beads comes from an extension of that process (extra heating past the carnelian stage) I decided that the "Spiderweb Carnelian" term was the most accurate. Plus, it avoids the confusion between "Fire Agate," which is a much more valuable stone with a lot of internal flash, and "FireD Agate." But as you said, either way, they're pretty :-)Silver Parrothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09873603171743392110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705112.post-17260962000908596632009-05-29T13:37:28.104-07:002009-05-29T13:37:28.104-07:00Am soooo green right now!! Carnelian starts out as an agate but becomes carnelian when heated (either by nature or by man)...so like a rose...under any name it's still as sweet. :)
Love, love, love the stick pearls !
