Y'know, I bet I could be more clever if I just had some chocolate. So, if you want clever and witty blog titles, send chocolate. If not, you'll have to make do with whatever schlock I throw up there on any given day.
I'm sure you know what the right thing to do is ;-)
In other news, I'm still ignoring the laundry monster in favor of finishing up my magazine submissions and making new jewelry. Hey, I will never win the "Donna Reed Homemaker of the Year" award, but maybe, just MAYBE, I will having something published in an issue of "Stringing."
Everything is going out in the mail today so I can be on pins and needles for the next few months waiting to hear back on whether they chose any of my stuff for the publication.
See why I need chocolate?
In the meantime, here's a look at my newest designs:
Lampwork beads from imakebeads on Etsy and I used that same wire technique from the magazine that I used on the "Spiral Galaxy" bracelet.
Here's a closeup of the clasp. I oxidized everything in liver of sulfur and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
And, y'know, my links aren't all perfect and matchy matchy, but I decided to just get over it and like the bracelet anyway.
I'm still having fun using all my bright beads. The pendant is from Lisa Peters on Etsy and I used Gaea Cannaday's instructions from a recent magazine article to make the wire links.
The heavier 3-link section on the side is from Cathy Dailey and I added a sterling heart charm and a couple of glass bead dangles.
Finished off with a hook clasp in the back and then I oxidized everything with LOS.
Let's see, what else? Oh, I finally sold some things on Etsy! YAY! It's only taken about 7 months to finally see some activity. I'll be interested to see if it builds from here or if this is just people spending $ they got for Christmas.
For those who've asked about the crabs - not much activity going on in the crabitat. Talky (the red one) seems to have taken up permanent residence inside the coconut hut. I finally gave in and checked on him just to make sure he was still alive (he was). Rocky finally came out one time and ate some food and then moved to a new spot where he's been every since (about a week). Summers (the green one) seems to be the most active. He comes out pretty much every night and hits the food and water dishes. He got VERY excited about some chopped turkey meat I put out for him. Scarfed nearly all of it. Apple went over almost as well. Carrots...not so much. The shell-switching seems to have stopped for now. I'm thinking the lack of activity probably has to do with the temperature - the mornings can be just a bit chilly this time of year. I'm expecting we'll get more action during warmer times of the year.
That's it for today. Hope everyone has a good one.
KJ
P.S. Thanks for all the nice comments yesterday! I try to respond directly when I can, but I ALWAYS at least read them so thanks again!

Yes, coming up with good blog post titles is so hard. I love your new creations. You're getting crafty with that wire, girl!
I think the links are awesome just the way they are. The fact that they are handmade makes them way better than anything machine made. I would love to send you some chocolate, but I don't have your address ;)

congrats on the new sales, I am going to have to go check out what you sold :)
Great job with the wire - I'm very impressed! I love both pieces!
yes, titles are lame - but necessary... love the new designs ~ the necklace is adorable and i can see things like this in mags for sure! best luck to you -
the bracelet is sumptuous! those are fabulous beads, and I like the spiral links you put in between the beads. So nice and airy! I prefer to refer to my own lack of uniformity in wire crafting as "having an organic feel." (Like it fell out of a crow's nest and an cow stepped on it. Ha).
Great wire work and I love a spot of bright colour. Good luck with your submissions. Titles? I am always just happy to read your posts!
I think you did a great job on the links!! Beautiful pieces!! The blue is so serene in those beads. Just lovely!
Good luck with the publications!
I really like the blue bracelet, especially with its little variations.
I just came across this!~ I really love how it came out and Im so drawn to the links and the teeny tiny beads and dangles along the chain! So cute!
