Is anyone else having problems with the comments on blogger.com blogs (like mine?) I'm trying to work my way through the ginormous Bead Soup list of blogs to check out everyone's soup ingredients and maybe find some new blogs to follow and some new Etsy shops to check out (yeah, that little maneuver has already cost me some major $$) and I can't seem to leave comments on some of the blogs.
These are the comment boxes where it asks you what "ID" you are using to comment (Google, Wordpress, OpenID, etc.) When I put in my Google ID and password, it then tells me that I "don't have access to this webpage" and will not let me comment. I've had to resort to selecting either the "Anonymous" option (which blows...because then how can the blog author reply back if they want to) or the Name/URL option (which is slightly better, but still not optimal).
So, to Blogger.com I say...WTF?
Have you experienced this on other blogs or, worse, here on mine? Is this some new security feature? And most importantly...how does one make this annoying problem go AWAY?!
I can't seem to find any info on it in the help forums.

Yes, I have been having the same problem for weeks now. It's very frustrating, to say the least!
It seems to be something in the settings that each individual person used to set up their blog. I haven't figured out exactly what that is yet. I don't mind using name/url or even anonymous, although I'd prefer not to but it annoys the you know what out of me when I can NOT comment at all!! Commenting and receiving comments is what it's all about!!
I have that problem too. and if it doesn't have the anon/name url option, i can't comment at all. No solution, but you're not alone.
i haven't had this problem, but i don't comment on that many blogs. i did receive a notification though when i logged into blogger at home that "blogger is no longer supporting your browser" (i.e. Firefox, whatever version it is). it suggested i try google chrome. maybe you could download that and try it and see if you're able to comment.
Hi I used to have that problem until I read that you have to uncheck the keep me signed in box where you sign into google. After I unchecked that box I had no more problems. Check and see if that box is checked this maybe your problem.

Totally not the only one. I just wrote about this the other day. Someone suggested that when you log in that you should UNcheck the box that says Remember me. The whole anonymous thing is killing me as well. And I just don't have the time to devote to hopping before the hopping so I will wait until AFTER the Inspired by retreat to do any of that! And to top it all off, on Monday I came home to "Blue Screen o' death" and on Tuesday morning found "Black Screen o' doom" (never found THAT before!) so I think that my 'puter is hosed. This is a bad, bad week for technology, I tell you!
Enjoy the day!

If you log into your blog through Google and you "stay" logged in, you will have the problem you have described. Uncheck the "Stay Signed In" box when you log on and you shouldn't have anymore problems. Fingers crossed for you!

Yep, Kelly, when you log in don't check the stay logged in box. This has happened to me for months now. It was supposed to be fixed by blogger but I can't find anyway to stay logged in and still comment. Kind of pain but I'm getting used to it.
I have had this problem a few times, but not every time I comment on a blog. It has been frustrating when it happens.
I feel mighty embarrassed admitting this, but I guess it's how we learn. I've been using the name/url option thinking that would allow people to find their way back to my blog where they could leave a message, so I'm not really aware of the advantage(s) of using the option you are discussing. Does it allow the blogger to respond directly to the person making the comment without the commenter sending a personal email address? I would certainly appreciate enlightenment on this issue, even if the feature is "broken" at the moment. Many thanks!
