All hecticness...all the time...

Whew! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks with NO time at all for writing. I’ve got all these pictures ready to post but I can’t get a spare second to sit down and write about ‘em.

What’s been happening you ask? Well, okay, maybe you’re not asking, but I’m going to tell you anyway because isn’t that what blogs are for? Publishing the miscellaneous minutia that make up our lives?

Oh.

Well, whatever. I’m going ahead anyway.

So, my oven died back in November – Thanksgiving weekend to be exact. Haven’t had time to get it fixed yet (small clue here as to how much “cooking” I do). The dishwasher is slowly dying. Haven’t called about that either.

My car has been making a weird noise for about the last six weeks. I took it in for an oil change and a 24-pt. inspection which, of course, found nothing wrong. I’ve continued to drive it and the noise has continued to get louder. Finally contacted the dealership to make an appointment for service – they have no openings for two more weeks. I will no doubt end up stranded by the side of the road any day now…and I think my AAA membership MAY have expired. I don’t know and I’m too busy to check.

The garage door opener died a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been having to park outside every night so now my car is extra filthy. Not to mention my own paranoia about how the door can now be opened manually by anyone who wants to come on in and help themselves to the contents of my garage.

…..pauses to consider contents of garage….

Never mind – that may actually be a good thing.

Then, to top it all off, this weekend, my wonderful son who I really, truly love with all my heart, really put the cherry on top of the sundae that is my life by causing a li’l incident which I like to call “The Great Flood of 2009 (aka how to ruin the entire 2nd story of your house with a handful of toilet paper).”

**Free parenting tip** Don’t forget to teach your child that when water starts pouring out of the toilet in the middle of the night, the appropriate response is NOT to close the door and go back to bed.

It may also be helpful to make sure he or she understands the definition of the word “emergency.”

I’m just sayin’…

But I love him. Really, I do. I don’t, however, think my insurance company is too crazy about him at the moment, but, hey, they take my money every month anyway so I guess my answer to them on that subject is “shut up and pay for my new carpet, dammit!”

And now….bead pics…from a month ago…when my life was only incredibly hectic as vs. now when it is INSANELY hectic:

Various bits and pieces of silver components from Sadco. LOVE their stuff!

The current economic suckage hit the bead show – these babies were only $1 a strand.

More deals and steals – this vendor had an offer of your choice of 5 strands for $3 total. I thought the square shaped beads in particular would be fun to design with.

And then, of course, my favorites - these beautiful porcelain beads from Kevin Chen. He has additional designs which I'm hoping to pick up at a future show in April. Yay! Just in time for summer designs.

Lastly, I picked up this unusual lampwork heart-shaped toggle on eBay. I've already got the design for this done in my head - just need the time to make it.

...pauses to re-read blog entry....

Um...so...yeah...that might take me a while LOL!

Good weekend, everyone!

You are an excellent writer (read it outloud to my family) you remind me of Erma Bombeck. Thanks you make my day seem so much easier. I am crazy about that lampwork toogle, lucky find. Peace

Wow - what a compliment to be compared to Erma Bombeck! Thank you so much for reading and for leaving a comment and enjoying the bizarre insanity that is my life. I either have to laugh about it or just give up and head straight for the padded room :-)
