Toot! Toot!

Bear with me as I once again shamelessly toot my own horn! Two of my designs have been published in this month's issue of "Bead Trends" magazine:

This is "Rain Blossom" from my "Memoire" collection. It features lucite flowers and leaves with Swarovski pearls and crystals wired to gunmetal filigree bases and strung on gunmetal chain. I love the way the light makes the lucite almost seem to "glow"and these are great materials for getting that whole "romantic, girly, vintage" vibe on.

This is probably one of my personal favorites from all the things I've created. Nothing revolutionary about the design - just loads of lampwork, pearls, crystals and silver charms strung and wire-wrapped into a bracelet. I just happen to think the color combination was a big step forward for me and also that it came out particularly well.

But I don't want to just toot MY horn - I know several of my wonderful readers out there were also featured in this issue. My wonderful friend, Erin, has a design on the cover that is just yumminess personified and Marie has some terriffic items in there as well! I know times are tight and this mag is on the expensive side, but I at least recommend you thumb through a copy at the book store - the photography is truly outstanding and well worth a look.

If you'd like to see some of the other items I've had published, you can check out my website. It's still top secret, but I'm hoping I'll be able to announce some more additions to that page soon - fingers crossed for good luck!

Woot Woot!
I love that bracelet. Those colors are just yummy. I would be proud to wear that on my wrist!
And I am thinking about lucite flowers...I am planning for an actual art gallery exhibit for later this year and I have a floral theme for one piece so far. Hmmmm....thanks for the kind shout out. I was utterly shocked to see this piece landed on the cover. Tatia said she wanted to surprise me. You are the best sort of friend, Kelly. Enjoy the day! Erin

YAAAA HOOOOO, CONGRATULATIONS, WAY TO GOOOO,!!!!!!

I really love the colors in the bracelet and yes I think you should be very proud. They are quite a ways away from the colors that you usually work in. But all the same you have left the impression of cool confidence!!

PS Parrot update. Quite a few of the kids have decided to rent branches and settle in around the aviary. But boy are they all right there when we pull up to feed the aviary bound kids!! They are kinda like teenagers, can I have the keys to the car, some money for food, and I don't need a curfew I am my own person you know!! :)
