Y'see, it started out to be this really cool copper concoction with patina'd heart charms and other stuff and then the charms didn't have loops going the right way so I tried putting them on with jump rings and then they were too dangly and it just wasn't working.
So I got the bright idea to mix some blue flowers, bronze pearls and copper beads and some blue rondelles and I started wire-wrapping away.
Now, it seemed, um, not good, pretty early on, but I thought if I kept wire-wrapping, it would get better. By the time I realized that wasn't going to happen, I'd invested so much time (and so many headpins) that I felt like I had to finish it. Then I thought some dark purple beads would help it...but I couldn't find the strand I wanted to use.
Then I got a look at these rondelles in real daylight (instead of the crappy fluorescents in my office) and lo and behold, they were LAVENDER and NOT BLUE. I'm telling you - in the office, those rondelles were exactly the same color as the flowers on the bracelet. And now look at them.
Okay, the lavender improved the bracelet a bit, but I still don't like it.
Now the earrings I think are not so bad. At least, that's what I thought yesterday when I was photographing them.
Now I'm not sure I like them at all. Although, they do match the flowers in my backyard pretty well LOL!
Or maybe I'm just grumpy because I was forced to wear Spanx today and they are slowly strangling the entire lower half of my body?
Wait, was that TMI?
Never mind.

I love that you're so honest about hating the project...I've got a few things like that at home. They started out with the best of intentions, but then something just went wrong somewhere along the way. I think that's part of how we learn...So hang onto that bracelet and keep it as a reminder of things you don't necessarily want to do again :o)
That is so true! You start with a vision, it goes horribly wrong, you start second guessing your visions and you are stuck with an oddity...don't despair. Put it aside. Michelle Ward's last challenge was to rip yourself off. You know...instead of stealing from someone else, take an idea you had or an early piece of horribly made jewelry and reinvent it. That is what this is destined for.....I could see taking this apart...just a bit and using it for the dangly parts on a long chain necklace. And I think the colors aren't that bad! What about dunking it in liver of sulphur to patina that copper. I find that usually does the trick for me.
And for the record? I am wearing some spanx type thing to keep all my bits in place today too! *wink*
Enjoy the day!

Katie - well, no sense in not being honest about it. Especially since I'm pretty sure everyone else will also hate it LOL!
Erin - are you sure that we aren't long lost twins LOL! The worst part is...I'm actually wearing HEELS, too! Tomorrow - back to jeans and flats! Definitely!
