Looky What I Made!

FINALLY! Got a chance to do some real, actual beading yesterday. Yay! It was one of those days where the designs just "worked out" without me feeling like I was having to drag the muse around by her hair to get her to cooperate.

I started with this amazing flower pendant from Tracee Dock at The Classic Bead.

Seriously - isn't it beautiful? If you look really closely, you can see that it even has little glimmers of lavender between some of the petals.

I added some dyed agate rounds, golden glass pearls, a Vintaj brass leaf and some pink chalcedony rondelles. Oh, and I threw in one green aventurine round for contrast and because every flower has to have some green around it, right?

The clasp is an aged brass hook from Patina Queen.

Then, Mom needed a custom order. She's getting together with some of her sorority alum friends for a Christmas lunch and gift exchange. Their colors are light blue and dark blue so I used dark indigo and air blue opal Swarovski crystals. Their sorority symbol is the fleur-de-lis. I found these cute sterling fleur-de-lis charms at a bead show and I wire-wrapped everything together and added a sterling silver toggle clasp.

A friend brought me this really nice pair of raku frit lampwork beads from a beadshow. I added hammered gold hoops, some vermeil spacers and Swaro crystals to them to make a stylish pair of earrings.

I actually churned out two more pairs of earrings, but by then, it had gotten too dark and stormy to take pictures outside. Yes, we are having actual WEATHER in So Cal. It was cold and overcast all day yesterday and today it is raining.

And you know what that means! We are on STORMWATCH 2009! With Dopper 8,000,000 and live reports from anywhere that droplets of water have been sighted.

Of course, it also means that everyone will forget how to drive and the commute home tonight will be a total NIGHTMARE.

Sigh.

LOVE the necklace!

It never fails to amaze me how people forget to drive in weather. We had our first snowstorm of the season on Saturday, under 6" in most places, and AAA reported over 100 people off the road. Every year it's the same thing, people have driving amnesia. Um, people, snow makes the road slippery. Drive slow so you don't kill me, ok???

gorgeous darling!
I love the flower ceramic focal.
We are about to WEATHER here in central WI.......SNOW!!!! The kind that stays on the ground and covers the trees with a fluffy white blanket. The kind that makes me happy for Christmas (but I wish it would only snow until xmas and then no more after). That is why I have to get off this computer and kick it into high gear to get the rest of my house moved.....tonight!

I love your pieces, too. That flower pendant is great - great job with the matching beads! I can't believe you are actually getting rain - I'm hearing all the weather reports - it's coming this way! Woohoo - the first freezing rain tomorrow night! Have a safe drive home!

I forgot to mention, We had a snow storm on Friday, that would just knock you off your feet. lol. So much snow that fire trucks could not get up a hill to put out a fire and it ended up taking out 5 houses!! It was terrible. That is when people just should not drive at all!!

Love, LOVE the necklace...it's so spring-y!

We had weather issues here...about 2 inches of snow and people forget that the roads are slick. And 12" more on the way tonight into tomorrow. I just love driving in the stuff at 6am going to the paying job--not so much!

Have a great one and bead happy.
