Kinda silly, but I thought they were cute. This set got ONE bid - and went for $30. Pretty reasonable for a bracelet and earrings set considering all the sterling that's in it, but the glass chickens are Chinese glass so not that expensive.
Then there was this necklace:
Super-cute (and pricey!) lampwork beads, a lot of sterling, and a full strand of onyx beads.
Here, chick, chick, chick, chick! C'mon, these beads are CUTE!
The back is this beautiful sterling silver box clasp set with genuine onyx.
Nobody bid on it. Even for charity I can't move jewelry out the door! Not whining (okay, maybe a little), just frustrated.
And yeah, this set was a lot pricier at $150, but there were plenty of items that went for that much or more yesterday.
I guess I'll go upload some more used, stained rubber on Etsy tonight as that seems to be what everyone wants for Christmas LOL!

P.S. But if you think for one minute that the lack of jewelry sales will impede my quest to own all the art beads in the world, you are sadly mistaken. I can't stop now - the economy NEEDS me!

Hi KJ,
These are tough times. Charities are hurting and people are just not buying luxury items. Keep your chin up and hang in there. BTW That second necklace is the absolute cutest thing I've seen in ages.

KJ, my neighbor organizes a charity auction every year. This is a large community based art auction with a big dinner and all. It's very unpredictable and he thinks most people are just looking for a 'bargain.' So I wouldn't take these results to heart. You do beautiful work! This just wasn't the right place.
But the chicken loving necklace purchaser is out there somewhere... obviously just not at the auction! Really adorable even though it didn't go home with someone that day :)
Sniff. I'm sad that no one bid on the second necklace. It's obvious that a TON of work went into it!
Thanks for continuing to spur the economy with your art bead purchases. You're right, we do need you!
