What's Your Sign, Baby?

I know, I know, hard to believe that I take a break from my REAL hobby of bead collecting, but yes, I do actually make stuff sometimes:

The beautiful bronze pendant is from Summer's Studio on Etsy. I wire-wrapped Swarovski crystals in three different colors, some vintage green and gold melon beads and some brass filigree beads to create the "chain" part of the piece.

Here's a closeup of the pendant. I can't wait until she lists some more of these with different designs - they are just yummy!

Clasp is a Vintaj brass hook and eye and this picture also gives you a close up of some of the crystals.

One last look.

I love that piece, but it's so very tranquil in its color scheme. Or maybe it was just the 3 days of buckets of rain. Either way, I thought it was time to brighten things up around here:

Fun and cheery seed beads with some glass rounds and hearts, Bali silver and silver charms mixed in for good measure.

Here's a close up of the centerpiece. I almost used a heart-shaped toggle, but I thought that might be a little too much cuteness. But, check out my hammered silver wire spiral at the bottom of the red heart. Not too shabby ;-)

A close up view of the side of the necklace - some Czech and Chinese glass hanging out together there.

Another look at the center piece.

And the entire necklace again.

These two necklaces are a perfect example of what happens when a Gemini (me) tries to develop a signature "style." You get two opposite ends of the spectrum - one very artsy, tranquil, elegant piece...and one piece made by a 13-year-old girl on a sugar high.

Hi Kelly,
I'm a gemini too and sometimes my dual personality surprises me. I guess I should just go with the flow even if the flow goes two directions.

By the way, I will probably blog about you and your giveaway tomorrow -- I'm taking care of Mom after double knee surgery.

KJ, you should enter that heart one in the Bead Star contest in the spring in the Heart category! I am proof that it works!
Enjoy the day! Erin

I always follow your blog and love all your stuff.
It would be helpful if you could name your creations. It makes it easier to refer to in comments.
Well, I have named my favourite for today "Sugar High" (but you really came up with this). I just love the contrast of silly colours combined with your usual sophistication.

Oh I'm such a goose. Just realized that you do name your creations. But I think only if they lend up on etsy.
Please don't publish my comments or all the girls will laugh at me again. By the way I'm Davinia's best friend, she can explain.

Is that why I can't develop a style, I'm a Gemini too. Love both of the necklaces but the first one is divine.

I'm trying again. Been following your blog since...forever. Love your creations. Too lazy to leave comments.
By the way you don't have to delete this comment.
Forgive me phrasing in a strange way, I am German.

I'm a firm believer in having multiple artistic personalities. I kind of like the idea of someone looking at my shop and assuming it's an artist's co-op. Because aren't we all so multifaceted? Sometimes we're serene, sometimes we're wild, sometimes we pretend to be emotionally stable...love both your pieces!! and I could wear them both comfortably and feel completely me! but probably not at the same time. run with it Sybil!

Kelly, it's perfectly OK to have more than one style. You are versatile! I love both of the necklaces. And I just have to say, your wire wrapping is fantastic. That brass wire is not always so friendly. Really nice work.
