Birthday Bead Porn and Announcements

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!

In the past, to celebrate my day, I've always done a sale on my jewelry, but I thought this year I'd switch it up and have a sale on my beads! So, TODAY ONLY, everything at BeResinable is 25% off! Go ahead and order and pay as usual and I will refund the 25% via Paypal. Sale ends at midnight tonight.

One of my square word beads is currently featured in a treasury, so be sure to check that out here.

Oh, and if you feel like mentioning the sale on your blog/facebook/twitter/whatever, that'd be awesome!

As long as I'm doing announcements, don't forget that the big Bead Soup Blog Hop party starts tomorrow! My swap partner will be posting her stuff on that day. I'm not due to post until the 24th which means I have a few more days to get my soup done. Better go work on that right now, in fact!

And now on to the real reason you're all here today:

It's strange to say this, but this is my first time ever buying glass-bead headpins. Just goes to show that you can be around beads and jewelry for a LONG time and still be trying out new things. These come from Gardanne.

Gardanne has become part of the enameling craze that seems to be sweeping the bead-making community right now. In addition to her gorgeous lampwork and glass headpins, she's started offering these beautiful enameled brass components.

I couldn't resist the colors on this toggle bar set.

And I just loved this idea - the star fish charm with the enameled disk pendant behind it. She lists new beads each week on Wednesdays if you want to check out her freshest stuff.

More deliciousness from MissFickleMedia. I used one of these violet rings in my "Raven's Wing" necklace.

I loved the contrasting blue and copper on the twisted links of this chain. It's also from MissFickleMedia.

Impression jasper rondelles dyed a gorgeous shade of blue-green from UncommonBeads.

And they come in pinky-purple, too.

And a darker fuchsia shade in a square shape.

Lavender dyed shell heishi beads.

Carved lotus shape carnelian beads. I'm really into carved flower shapes in different stones right now. The muse wants a rock garden, maybe?

Okay, yeah, that was a really bad pun...and yet...obligatory.

These large, squared-edged rondelles of blue magnesite are from Artmooie.

More cute clay buttons from TessaAnn. Black and turquoise - one of my favorite color combos.

And thanks to my job - I seem unable to resist any design with a cute chicken on it.

This yummy ceramic bracelet connector is from the wonderful Summer'sStudioEtc., of course. You can see one of my first ever pieces using her work in the new issue of "Stringing." I bought a coral-colored version of this same connector and have already used it in my "Coral Gardens" bracelet.

This clay pendant is from Mary Ann Carroll. Navy and aqua is another favorite color combo of mine and I liked the earthiness of the brown stripes as well.

Whenever I buy a pendant or focal, I try to get some coordinating beads as well - either to use in the main design or to make a pair of matching earrings. Y'all know how I feel about the matchingness of things ;-)

This amazing dragonfly bead is from Joan Miller. It's equally nicely decorated on both sides which I love because you don't have to worry about it flipping around in a design. It looks good either way.

Lastly, a fun, cheery and bright set of lampwork with enamels from Outwest. These are all pairs so they could be made up into lots of earrings or mixed up in a necklace or bracelet. Either way, they look like one of those candy necklaces to me.

Hope you enjoyed the birthday bead porn and don't forget the 25% off sale on my resin beads at BeResinable!

Have a great weekend!

KJ

I want to go shopping with you. No, really, I do! I love the chain. I just worked with some of the twisted chain in aqua and it is awesome. I can feel my checkbook getting lighter as I type. And 25% off? Woohoo for birthdays!

Hope it is a great one!
Enjoy the day.
