That Noise You Hear...

...is me blowing my own horn.

Um...again.

Because I finally got my hands on the new summer issue of "Stringing" via a friend at work (who got hers already while I still don't have mine!) I'm actually holding it in my hot little hands! I'm so excited to have FIVE pieces (three necklaces, a bracelet and a pair of earrings) in it.

Actually, I've passed excited.

I've entered giddy.

Next? I may need oxygen.

I still remember the day I took my camera to the beach last summer hoping to take some "inspiration-worthy" pictures. Mostly I got some ugly looking mussel-covered rocks with bloated starfish on them, but amongst all the shots was this one:

I wondered if it was possible to mix the gold and ivory sand shades with the gray-green, lavender and purple of the anemone tentacles and actually come up with a coherent design.

The answer turned out to be a resounding YES! And, fortunately for me, the editors of "Stringing" agreed and my "Anemone Pool" necklace - with its guardian mermaid pendant - is one of the pieces featured in this most recent issue.

What a great pre-birthday present for me.

I'll take that oxygen now ;-)

Absolutely, hands down, my favorite issue of Stringing. It is like holding my friends in my hands, this one. And I don't even, really, have a piece in it. Well, actually, that is my piece in the SoftFlex ad across from your smiling face, so I guess it is like I am in it! But I don't get a free copy. Or a check. CONGRATS! What a sweet birthday present (And really, why is it that I have my copy before the designer does? That just ain't right.)

Love you!
Enjoy the day.
